Teach4Future’s
Ecosystem Restoration through Education
Virtual Workshops Series

Teach4Future’s Virtual Workshops on Promoting Ecosystem Restoration through Education is a four-week webinar series for school teachers of formal and non-formal institutions in Indonesia to be held on 24 & 31 July and 14 & 21 August 2021. Teachers will receive an introduction to concepts of environmental education, its practices, and sustainable development through presentations from experts and practitioners in their fields. By joining this program, teachers will become part of a community of educators, activists, and entrepreneurs who are dedicated to environmental education and sustainable development issues in Indonesia.

These virtual workshops provide an effective curriculum that enables teachers to gain deeper knowledge and develop the skills and abilities needed to implement environmental education and sustainable development in their schools and teaching. Teachers will also explore the roles that teachers can take in ecosystem restoration through four modules, namely: 1. Understanding the Issues, 2. Exploring the Potentials of Outdoor Learning, 3. Learning in the Green School Way, and 4. Engaging Students in Ecosystem Restoration projects.

Upon completion, teachers can apply for a grant competition to fund pilot projects that promote ecosystem restoration in their schools and communities. They will also receive a number of teaching materials that can increase student involvement in environmental and sustainability education activities. Our ultimate goal is for students to become ‘nature guardians’ through the implementation of a sustainability center and teacher-driven eco-curriculum.
